- - Loma Linda University did a study in 1973 and concluded that if you eat 100 grams of sugar your white blood cells become 40% less effective in fighting off bacteria and disease.
- Our white blood cells need vitamin C to work properly and effectively, but when you intake large amounts of sugar that sugar starts competing for space in white blood cells with vitamin C therefore the more sugar you eat the less vitamin C you'll have which means your immune system slowly starts to become weak as you eat more and more sugar.
- A recent study was done at Yale where the researchers fed mice glucose while also giving them a drug called 2-deoxy-D-glucose which stops the body's ability to metabolize glucose. Their conclusion was that some bacteria and infections need to be starved of sugar in order for the immune system to be able to fight against it.
- According to Doctor Linus Pauling, your body's immune system becomes 75% less effective for about 4-6 hours after you eat any kind of sugar.
